McLean-Shortall Architects has provided architectural services since 1966. We are licensed to practice architecture in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland and Delaware.

McLean-Shortall Architects can provide services from the design inception to the final role of obtaining a "certificate of occupancy". We offer services for those who prefer the "competitive bid" process, but specialize in the "design-build" principle of working as a team member with the owner, architect, engineers, and building contractor. We can offer estimating services during the final construction documents phase of the work.

Design-Build
McLean-Shortall Architects was one of the fore-runners in this field. At a time when most architects thought d/b was unethical, we were out in front, leading the industry in developing cost effective, team approach contracts that lead to successfully designed and price controlled projects. It was years later that the trade associations recognized design-build and started writing professional agreements tailored for this important concept. We were writing Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) contracts early in the 1970's.

Facilities Consulting Contract
With a clients' time at a premium and staff busy with productive work, our firm can offer a "Facilities Consulting Contract". This service provides the client with professional experience of architects and engineers to inspect your present facilities and report back to you as to needed repairs, replacements, and improvements that can be made to improve functionality, energy efficiency and growth expansion. This report will include action to suit your budget and staged implementation so that costs can be spread out over a planned period of time.
